1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Taiba (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application on Android and iOS.

The App helps you view fuel prices, find the nearest fuel stations on a map, plan trips with a travel/fuel calculator, and receive notifications. You do not need to create an account or sign in to use the App.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location data

The App uses your device’s location to:

  • Show your position on the map.
  • Find and display the nearest fuel stations.
  • Calculate distances and routes in the travel/fuel calculator.

We request foreground (while-in-use) location. On Android the App also declares background location permission where required to continue providing location-based features while the App is not in the foreground.

Location is used to deliver the requested feature in real time. We do not sell your location data or use it for advertising.

2.2 Device information

Through the device-info service we may collect non-personal technical information such as device model, operating system version, and app version. This is used for compatibility, diagnostics, and improving app stability.

2.3 Usage and preferences

The App stores your preferences and settings locally on your device (for example, onboarding status, selected fuel type, and app settings) using local storage. This data stays on your device.

2.4 Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may send you updates such as fuel price changes or service announcements. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

2.5 Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not require you to register or provide your name, email, or phone number to use the App.
  • We do not knowingly collect payment card details within the App.
  • We do not collect data from children (see Section 8).

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide core features (maps, nearest stations, fuel prices, travel calculator).
  • Improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Fix bugs and diagnose technical issues.
  • Send you notifications you have opted into.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services, which may process limited data on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:

We only share the minimum information necessary for these services to function. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • Local data (preferences, settings, cached map/station data) remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the App.
  • Backend data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service and meet legal requirements.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted network connections (HTTPS/TLS). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR in the EU/EEA, or other applicable laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
  • Withdraw consent for location or notifications (via your device settings).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

Managing permissions: You can turn location and notification permissions on or off at any time in your device’s system settings. Disabling location will limit map and nearest-station features.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. By using the App, you consent to such transfer, processing, and storage in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
